- Will inherint element value from parent item depending on setting and child item value
- Useful for such things as virtuemart product category or price
- Should be fast, as inheriting uses values already prepared for parents
- Use foreach restrictions if you use values inheriting *(so parents get to the items array and get their value prepared, query where would prevent that)*
- Use [foreach restrictions](ELEMENT_RESTRICTION.md) if you use values inheriting *(so parents get to the items array and get their value prepared, query where would prevent that)*
- Options:
- "If child has empty value" (inherit enabled, child has priority)
- "If parent has nonempty value" (inherit enabled, parent has priority)

# [Element](ELEMENT.md) - Restriction settings
- Restriction settings and options are specific to each [element type](ELEMENT_TYPES.md)
- Element type must support restrictions for this section to appear and show some settings
- Usually has 3 main settings but their options may be different:
- **Restriction type:**
- **Query WHERE**: Restriction will be made while selecting items from database, before inheriting parent values *(Faster, more reliable)*
- **Foreach IF**: Restriction will be made after items has been selected from database and their values prepared and inherited from parents *(Slower, but sometimes very useful)*
- **Restriction method:**
- This is usually selection of some kind of coparsion operator, such as "lower than" or "not empty" etc.
- **Restriction values:**
- This is the value / set of values that will be compared with element's value using selected operator to determine if the item should go inside feed or not
